In the beginning of the summer i participated in the world championship ifca slalom in turkey.
1st and 2nd day report of the ifca world championship 2013
my world championship couldn’t have start better…..
the first heat of the first elimination they protested against me and they won, that wasn’t correct but they got something against people from Aruba.
my second elimination i got 1st in the first heat, 1st in the second heat and 1st in the winners final! got some anger out!

we had wind blowing from 18 to 30 knots the hole day, but we only did 1 elimination…..
in the 3 elimination i went over early in my first heat and that was it!
i sailed the loser loser finale and i got 1st place in that, that gave me a 17th place.
i’m standing in 11th place!
lets hope for some races!!!
3rd day at the ifca world championship slalom 2013.
Today was a normal day for me, first elimination i got a bullet!(1st place) on the winners final.
Second elimination i became 3rd in the winners final.
I went from 11th place to 1st place (leading position)!
Lets see if i can hold it!

today not so good day for me…
in the first elimination of the day i went to the finale, but i got a over early…
in the second elimination of the day i didn’t make it to the winners finale, but the losers finale and i got a 3rd place there.
no chance to be world champion anymore…
lets see whats gonna happen tomorrow!
5th day of the ifca world championship slalom 2013
after 5 days of hard surfing and allot of emotions i can say that i became 4th in the youth division. (4th of the world!)
i’m not really happy about it, but i tried my best and that’s the best i can do.
i just missed the podium for 1 point! that felt really bad….
with al the ups and downs that i had in these 5 days, i learned that life is not fare and there will always be ups and downs!
the event was well organized perfect windsurfing condition, the food was always perfect, course was always perfect and was a fun event for every one.

after the world championship i went to Holland to train with some friends,
after 2 weeks of training i went to the volvo surf cup at sylt.
we didn’t have wind till the last day of the competition..
Had an awesome week here on sylt at the volvo cup 2013.
Unfortunately the wind wasn’t quiet there but we sailed 2 eliminations, the first elimination i finished 4th in the winners finale! I was super stoked best heat of my life, in the second elimination i finished 2nd in the losers finale that was a pity, If we could finish one more elimination i could have discard my 2nd place, it was all around a great event, great people, great organization!
after sylt volvo cup, i was invited to go to curacao for the endless summer sport festival.
we had every day wind and lots of fun.

what a day, i sailed 11 heats today. (tired)
i’m registered in the under 17 group and the pro’s group.
i think i have never sailed so bad in my life….
i missed a heat in the under 17 group..

still not sailing at my best, but it’s improving…
today more wind than yesterday but really gusty. wind from 18 knots dropping to 3 knots..
but still having fun, enjoying life, learning from mistakes.
under 17 group i had 2 over early heats and in the pro class i had pretty good heats but can be better..
standing in 3th place in the under 17 group and 4th in the pro class.
lets hope for some races tomorrow and wind.
we also did a fun race today, and it was really fun…
finished 2nd in the race.
Last day of the summer festival on curacao.
What can i say? I tried my best and that’s it…
Good training, learned allot, more motivation to train now!
Finally going back to my one happy island Aruba!
Results here 2nd in the under 17 group and 4th in the pro’s group!
On aruba i will compete in the Aruba regatta 2013! Looking forward for some hi winds conditions!
after 1.5 months i’m back on Aruba i will compete in the aruba regatta 2013.
i will get some training with my buddy from bonaire, amado vrieswijk and jordy vonk.
and then we will see if i’m gonna participate in sylt for the worldcup pwa grandslam!
