Day 2…
Weather was again amazing and sun was out and plenty of people on the beach…
While waiting for the wind I hosted a clinic for the racers going trough how to tune your formula gear for different kind of conditions. It was a Q&C type of clinic and people seemed pretty happy and we killed some time.
The breeze kicked in about 3 pm but not as strong as the previous day and it was decided to just do 1 lap around the course.
It was a starboard favoured start and everyone did well. I had a clear lead from the beginning followed by Loic and Loduwick, places didn’t change around the course and that was the end result of #4.
Everyone started on port tack to head for the right side of the course, free of boats and better winds. Ron Kern and Loduwick found a nice little gust and had a differen angle towards the mark than the rest of the fleet. However a boat came in the middle of the course and Ron Kerns lay-line to the windward mark and there was a bit of shouting going on out there. Ron and Loic both got in the boats wake and didn’t make the mark. Loduwick rounded in 1st and myself in 2nd. At the bottom mark I had a big lead but the tide was rolling out and I got stuck on the sandbar and could not get clear, meanwhile Loduwick and Loic found clear passage to overtake, while I was walking in the water to find a deeper spot. Ron eventually passed the boat and finished in 4th.
It was a nice day again and everyone did really well…
Today is last day and hopefully we get some more races in
